Sau Dan LEE (李守敦)
Sau Dan LEE completed his Ph.D. in Institut für Informatik, Alber-Ludwig-Universität Freiburg, Germany. He used to working on the cInQ project at the institute. He received his B.Sc. (Computer Science) degree with first class honours in 1995 and his M.Phil. degree in 1998 from the University of Hong Kong. From 1995-1997, he was a teaching assistant of the Computer Science Department of that university. He worked as a research assistant in the same department during 1997-1998. Afterwards, he worked as a software engineer at the E-Business Technology Institute of the University of Hong Kong from 1999 to 2001. From 2001 to 2004, he pursued Ph.D. studies at the Alber-Ludwig-Universität Freiburg, Germany. His doctoral thesis, with the title ``Constrained Mining of Patterns in Large Databases'', was completed in mid 2005 and the oral defense took place in early 2006. He was conferred the Ph.D. degree in 2006.
Mr. Lee's areas of research interest include data mining, data warehousing, indexing of high-dimensional data, clustering and classification and information management on the WWW. His M.Phil. thesis was titled ``Maintenance of Association Rules in Large Databases''. He also has experience in doing research and development of e-Business systems on the Internet, focusing on XML and related technologies and their applications in e-Commerce.
